"NOEUD" is a compelling short film that is part of the "Being Black in Canada" series, delving into the complexities of Black women's relationships with their natural hair and the associated stigmas. Directed by Aïcha Morin-Baldé, a Guinean-Canadian filmmaker based in Montreal, this short film unveils the nuances of this experience. After completing her Cinema DEC at Dawson College in 2019, Aïcha began her journey as an intern at St Laurent TV, where she quickly stood out due to her passion for cinema and strong character. "NOEUD" made its debut at the Toronto Black Film Festival and was featured in numerous other festivals, in addition to being selected by Reel Canada for screening in high schools across Canada. Aïcha Morin-Baldé is a talented filmmaker who, through her cinematic projects, significantly contributes to the discourse on Black experiences in Canada while exploring subjects like identity and self-esteem.
