The Massimadi Festival, in collaboration with the McCord Stewart Museum, invites you to a screening of the film Drift by Anthony Chen. This event is part of the exhibition À toutes ces femmes que l’on ne nommait pas by artist Michaëlle Sergile.

To mark the beginning of the Massimadi Festival, a special cocktail will be served, with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Guests can also enjoy light bites. This is the perfect opportunity to meet the festival community, discuss the program, and kick off the festivities in a warm and elegant atmosphere.
The evening will be accompanied by a performance from musicians of the Ensemble Obiora, Canada’s first classical music ensemble primarily composed of professional musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds. Their inspiring melodies and captivating repertoire will add a refined touch to the evening.

Synopsis: On the idyllic beaches of a Greek island, no one notices Jacqueline (Cynthia Erivo), a young refugee, except Callie (Alia Shawkat), an American tour guide. Their budding friendship might help Jacqueline heal from deep trauma and confront the ghosts of her past.
